Just a very quick update this week. Only two teams took to the field last Saturday (with all others enjoying the second week of the double bye). Fielding one of its strongest sides for the season, the Third XVIII drew away from Richmond Central in the last quarter to record a 29-point victory. Lachie Weinlich had a day out, kicking 5 of the side’s 10 goals. This was an important win for the boys, restoring their position in the four. The Women took on Whitefriars at Gary Smorgon Oval and went down by 33 points. Pleasingly, a last quarter goal meant we could take some confidence from the game. Although not winning, the women are still having a lot of fun, which is encouraging to see. All teams return to the field this weekend, with the senior men taking on Old Geelong at GBO. These are vital games for both the Firsts and Reserves who both need a win to keep in touch with the final four. The Under 19’s host Old Trinity, the Thirds are at home to Masala, and the women are playing at Powerhouse at 9.20am. It will be a massive day at GBO with four home games. Looking forward to seeing as many of our loyal supporters as possible to help cheer the boys home. Go Wellers. Gavin Powell President
