A very short report this week, with only one game over the weekend. With the Women’s and Thirds seasons finishing last weekend, and the men’s Seniors and Reserves teams having a bye, only the Under 19’s took the field Saturday. And with a side that contained a number of senior players, the boys recorded a 57-point victory over Monash Blues. The highlight was seven goals to Ty Beechey, son of master coach Matt. The Unders are destined for finals, currently sitting second on the ladder, with results in the last two rounds to determine our final finishing position. This week the Under 19’s take-on fourth placed Old Mackinnon/Glen Eira in a crunch match that will go some way to determining final ladder positions. The senior men’s teams travel to Marcellin. A particular highlight this weekend will be Ben Hart playing his 200th “1’s” game for the club, becoming only the third Old Camberwell player to achieve that feat. The others were club greats Jordan Heffernan (300 games, including 262 for the 1sts), and Greg “Les” Horton (228 games, including 214 for the 1sts). Congratulations Ben on achieving this significant milestone – let’s hope there are plenty more games to go!
